About Oil Spill India 2026

15 Years of Oil Spill Management Leadership

Foundational leadership started with the Indian Coast Guard and ONGC Limited in 2011, with the inception of Oil Spill India. It has evolved over seven editions into an international forum for knowledge sharing, technology demonstration and industry cooperation.

It has also been 15 years since the last edition. It will review the capacity of India to underpin the prevention, preparedness, response and recovery from oil spill incidents.

Continuous planning, robust technology and multi-sectoral collaboration are key to safeguarding coastal waters. Fisheries, tourism, communities and other livelihoods depend on coastal ecosystems in India.
